Now there's a Garmin retrofit option that can bring full G1000 integrated flight deck capability to operators of Cessna's popular CitationJet (Model 525, serial numbers 0001-0359). Available through Cessna-owned Citation Service Centers, this advanced avionics retrofit installation will give existing CitationJet owners the opportunity to fly with a state-of-the-art glass suite that combines all the value, functionality and situational awareness our Garmin G1000 system has come to represent.
Moving Ahead at Jet Speed The new CitationJet cockpit upgrade will feature a large 12-inch multi-function display (MFD) in the center of the panel, flanked by 10.4-inch primary flight displays (PFDs) at the pilot and copilot positions. Featuring full flight management system (FMS) capabilities in an RVSM compliant installation, the upgraded CitationJet will integrate all primary flight, navigation, weather, terrain, traffic, radio frequency, engine and fuel data readouts in a format that makes the pilot interface much clearer, simpler and more intuitive.
Experience Virtual 3-D Vision For added visual orientation, optional Garmin SVT(TM) Synthetic Vision Technology will also be available with G1000 for the CitationJet. Using sophisticated graphics modeling, this technology recreates a 3-D "virtual reality" database landscape on the pilot and copilot PFDs - showing terrain, obstacles, traffic, and runway environments in graphical perspective, so pilots can easily visualize the flight cues they would be seeing through the windshield in ideal visibility conditions. Along with this, Garmin's SVT also depicts rectangular "pathways" (Highway in the Sky) windows on the display to help pilots stay on course when flying enroute legs, VNAV legs, GPS/WAAS vertical approach procedures, ILS approach procedures, and more.
The Ace of Citation Autopilots Garmin's G1000 integrated flight deck for the CitationJet also includes the revolutionary GFC 700: a three-axis, fully integrated, digital dual channel, fail passive Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS). Able to optimize performance throughout the CitationJet's flight regime, the GFC 700 supports a wide array of capabilities that include coupled WAAS LPV approaches, vertical navigation, flight level change (FLC), and other sophisticated jet-level performance features.
All the Acronyms: WAAS, AHRS, RVSM and More Featuring dual VOR/Localizer/Glideslope receivers and dual TSO-c146a GPS receivers with Class 3 WAAS capability, the G1000 CitationJet suite comes ready to fly the fast-emerging virtual "glidepath" system of GPS-based vertical approaches. Other standard package assets include dual integrated solid-state Attitude and Heading Reference Systems (AHRS), Class-B Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS), and dual integrated digital air data computers which support RVSM (Reducted Vertical Separation Minimums). In addition, the G1000 retrofit includes Garmin's GWX(TM) 68 digital color weather radar, for stabilized tracking that leads to better tactical decision-making while enroute.
Sophisticated Mapping and Graphics The CitationJet G1000 MFD seamlessly integrates built-in terrain, obstacles and navigation databases to provide a clear, concise moving-map navigation display. Initial Garmin FliteCharts(R) come preloaded on the system, giving pilots an electronic graphical display of terminal procedures and approach plates for over 2,900 U.S. airports. As an option, geo-referenced ChartView(TM) plates and surface diagrams are also available - allowing pilots to overlay aircraft position cues on a Jeppesen-style electronic format. As a further aid at unfamiliar airports, Garmin SafeTaxi(R) diagrams also come preloaded. With a database of U.S., European or Canadian airport diagrams, SafeTaxi(R) accurately displays runways, taxiways, runway incursion hotspots, hangars and other key landmarks - while tracking the current location of one's aircraft on the field.
XM Support Comes Standard, too We can't upgrade the weather outside. But we can do the next best thing: By providing continuous inflight access to XM WX Satellite Weather(TM) services with a standard GDL 69A data link receiver. An XM subscription provides CitationJet pilots with weather coverage throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada - with graphical displays of NEXRAD images and METARs data, as well as current reports on precipitation, lightning, winds aloft, TAFs, TFRs, and more. Plus, for pure entertainment value, the XM receiver can also be used to access and enjoy over 170 channels of XM digital music, news and other programming through the CitationJet's audio system or headphones (XM subscription required for weather and audio).
For global weather information, an optional GSR 56 connects you to the Iridium satellite network, which also provides voice and text messaging connectivity, as well as position reporting.
Garmin G1000: It's the retrofit solution CitationJet owners have clearly been waiting for.
